The resource was developed by the University of Sydney's Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery with funding from South Western Sydney Primary Health Network (SWSPHN) through the Australian Government's Targeted Regional Initiatives for Suicide Prevention program.

Created in partnership with young people, the platform aims to improve mental health literacy and make it easier to find LGBTQ+ affirming and culturally responsive support services. The project was shaped by the experiences and ideas of young people to ensure the information is relevant, practical and easy to access.

The launch event, held at Fairfield Connect, brought together community members, healthcare professionals, researchers and representatives from youth, multicultural and LGBTQ+ organisations. Attendees explored how the platform can help connect young people with appropriate mental health support and local services.

Project contributors said the resource was designed to be a welcoming first step for anyone seeking help. By combining reliable information with community-focused support, Pause with Primi aims to help young people feel informed, connected and supported when looking after their mental health.

The online hub is now available for young people, families, educators and service providers across the community.
