Consultation opens on Australia’s national pharmacy workforce planning
14 May 2026
The project aims to build a needs-based approach to workforce planning, helping assess future demand and distribution of pharmacists across Australia.
According to the PSA, the goal is to support fair and equitable access to pharmacy services by ensuring workforce planning reflects real community needs and service demand.
Pharmacy professionals are being invited to share their experiences and insights to help shape the model and ensure it reflects day-to-day practice across different settings.
The consultation is open until 31 May 2026, and submissions can be made through the PSA National Pharmacy Workforce Analysis consultation page.
