PBS Update: Macrogol 3350 Access Changes from 1 April 2026

From 1 April 2026, the PBS has updated the access rules for macrogol 3350 (sachets 13.125 g with electrolytes, 30) and its listed brands. These changes follow advice from the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) in November 2025.

Under the new rules:

Macrogol 3350 will move from a standard Restricted Benefit to an Authority Required (STREAMLINED) listing.
Prescriptions written before 1 April 2026 can still be dispensed under the old Restricted Benefit rules.
Prescriptions written on or after 1 April 2026 must include the streamlined authority code.
