Victorian Public Healthcare Awards Mark 20 Years of Excellence
15 Oct 2026
Healthcare professionals, volunteers, government representatives and sector leaders gathered at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre for the 20th Victorian Public Healthcare Awards.
The anniversary event recognised this year’s finalists and winners while reflecting on achievements made across Victoria’s public health system over the past 20 years.
Since the awards began, they have showcased initiatives that improve patient care, address changing healthcare needs and deliver better outcomes for communities.
This year’s awards covered 11 categories, including community care, mental health, aged care, women’s health, Aboriginal health and wellbeing, healthcare equity, workforce sustainability and partnerships in healthcare. Recognition was also given to initiatives promoting environmentally sustainable health services and value-based care.
The Premier’s Health Service of the Year Awards were another highlight of the ceremony. These honours recognise public health services that demonstrate strong performance and deliver meaningful benefits to the communities they serve.
The event also acknowledged the contribution of volunteers working across hospitals, aged care facilities and community health services. The Health Volunteer Honour Roll recognised individuals who have dedicated more than 30 years to supporting patients, families and local communities.
As the awards reach their 20-year milestone, they continue to highlight achievements across Victoria’s public healthcare system and recognise the people whose work helps strengthen services and improve community health.
