Scholarships open for Victoria’s mental health workforce

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Workforce Scholarship Program is designed to help build a skilled and sustainable workforce that can support consumers, families, carers and supporters.

Applications opened on 15 September 2026 and close at 4 pm on 27 October 2026. The scholarships are available for eligible courses starting in Semester 2, 2026 or Semester 1, 2027.

Scholarships available for 2026–27 include:

  • Postgraduate Mental Health Nurse Scholarships: $3,000 towards postgraduate study.
  • Full Course Fee Postgraduate Mental Health Nurse Scholarships: eligible tuition fees covered up to $23,000.
  • Lived and Living Experience Workforce University Scholarships: up to $13,000 for leadership and capability development.

The mental health nursing scholarships are administered through the Department of Government Services Whole of Victorian Government Grants Centre on behalf of the Victorian Government.

The LLE scholarships are administered by The Collective, a group of partner organisations including SHARC, Harm Reduction Victoria, CLEW Network, Tandem and VMIAC.

The program provides opportunities for mental health workers to develop their skills and progress their careers while supporting Victoria’s ongoing mental health reform.
