New Priorities Set for National Rural Health Commissioner

The statement was issued by the Hon Emma McBride MP, Assistant Minister for Rural and Regional Health.

It outlines the Government’s expectations for the Commissioner to provide evidence-based advice and lead improvements across Australia’s rural, regional and remote health systems.

The priorities focus on improving access to healthcare, supporting a sustainable health workforce and improving health outcomes for people living outside major cities.

The statement will guide the Commissioner’s work and advice to the Australian Government over the two-year period.
