11 Sep 2026
The updated schedule applies from 1 July 2026 and replaces the previous version issued in June.
Key changes include:
- Annual indexation of service fees for 2026–27.
- New definitions for Audiologists, Audiometrists and Restricted Scope Audiologists, reflecting new membership categories for audiologists working within a limited scope.
- Updated claiming requirements stating that the Commonwealth is not required to pay a claim submitted six months or more after the date of service.
- Updated client cost requirements, including maintenance co-payments for fully subsidised devices, unless the payment is waived.
- New requirements for text message consent, including an easily identifiable link to the terms and conditions or a copy of the agreement.
- Removal of the section on managing data breaches to avoid conflict with requirements in the Service Provider Contract.
- Updated clause numbering following the removal of the data breach section.
- Updated requirements for claiming remote control items. Clients must not be charged for a remote control claimed under the program.
A table outlining the changes is included in Part 6 of the updated Schedule of Service Items and Fees 2026–27.
