Funding Opens to Help Aged Care Providers With Higher Leave Costs

Applications are now open for the Aged Care Award Wages – Historical Leave Liabilities Increases – 1 August 2026 grant.

The funding is designed to help eligible providers cover part of the additional costs associated with increased leave entitlements following the wage increase.

Funding is available for:

  • 25% of the Fair Work Commission increase in leave entitlements for residential aged care providers.
  • 50% of the increase for other eligible aged care program providers.

Registered providers may be eligible if they deliver:

  • Residential aged care
  • Support at Home
  • Commonwealth Home Support Programme
  • Transition Care Programme
  • National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care Program

Eligible Multi-Purpose Services providers will receive funding through their existing funding agreements and should not apply for this grant.

Applications close at 2:00 pm Canberra time on 6 October 2026.
