$60,000 Fellowship to Support Respiratory Research in Australia and New Zealand

The fellowship aims to help researchers build independent careers and support further research into respiratory conditions across Australia and New Zealand.
Applications for the fellowship closed on 26 October 2026 at 11:59 pm AEDT.
The 2026 fellowship was awarded to Dr Dennis Thomas, whose research will examine long-term asthma remission. The study will investigate how often asthma remission lasting more than five years occurs across different asthma types, levels of severity and treatment options.
The research will also be the first global study to examine health conditions that may influence whether a person achieves sustained asthma remission.
