Tharawal AMS Hosts Family Fun Day with Flu Vaccinations
17 Apr 2026
A petting zoo, face painting, and sausage sizzle helped create a friendly atmosphere for children and adults attending their annual flu shots.
Almost 140 local residents came along for their flu vaccinations, with NSW Health, Tharawal AMS, and the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council (AH&MRC) working together to provide both injections and nasal spray vaccines.
Children aged 2 to 4 are now eligible for a free nasal spray flu vaccine in NSW, which is needle-free and painless. Children aged 5 to 17 can also receive the FluMist vaccine for a cost.
The event aimed to make vaccination more accessible and comfortable for families in the community.
