New National Campaign Encourages Parents to Keep Childhood Vaccinations Up to Date
26 May 2026
The campaign, called “One more way you keep them safe”, highlights that childhood vaccination is a safe, free and effective way to protect children from serious diseases, especially during their early years when they are most at risk.
It promotes the National Immunisation Program schedule, which outlines recommended vaccines for children from birth to four years of age. These vaccines are available at no cost for eligible children with a Medicare card.
Health authorities say the campaign has been introduced in response to declining childhood vaccination rates and concerns about uncertainty among some parents regarding vaccine safety.
The initiative also includes a First Nations version called “Superkids”, which uses culturally appropriate messaging to support awareness and engagement in communities.
The campaign will be shared nationally through television, online platforms, social media, print, and community settings, with materials also translated for culturally and linguistically diverse audiences.
Parents and carers are encouraged to speak with a health professional to ensure their child’s immunisations are up to date.
