Mental Health Hub Expands Free Community Support Throughout August

30 Jul 2026

Located at the Peacock Centre, the Hub provides short-term guidance, practical support and information for anyone aged 15 years and over. It also helps people understand available mental health services and connects them with the support that best matches their needs. Family members and carers are also welcome to access the service.

Throughout August, a range of community organisations will deliver free sessions and outreach services at the Hub.

Available supports include mental health education through Recovery College Tasmania, housing assistance from Housing Connect, Centrelink outreach, NDIS information provided by Mission Australia, and SMART Recovery peer support for people affected by addiction.

Visitors can also access mental health recovery programs through Anglicare and Wellways, relationship support from Relationships Australia, employment assistance through CVGT, and domestic and family violence support from CatholicCare Safe Choices.

Additional services available during the month include counselling and support for veterans and their families through Open Arms, community meditation sessions, and Baby Village playgroup activities for parents with babies and toddlers.

The Hub encourages community members to check the August activity calendar and confirm session times before attending, as individual service dates may vary.

The Mental Health Integration Hub is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and all services are provided free of charge. Walk-ins are welcome.
