Healthcare providers urged to strengthen cyber security
06 Oct 2026
Health information can be a valuable target for cyber criminals, making strong security measures important for healthcare organisations.
A cyber security breach can affect patient care, cause financial losses and damage public trust. Providers need to protect their systems and data from these risks.
SWSPHN’s Digital Health team supports general practices, allied health professionals and other primary healthcare providers to improve their cyber security and meet their legal responsibilities.
The support focuses on helping providers prepare for threats such as phishing, ransomware and business email compromise.
SWSPHN also works with the Australian Digital Health Agency to support digital health and cyber security in primary healthcare.
