Deadline extended for Aged Care Quality and Safety Advisory Council applications

15 Jul 2026

The Government is looking for experienced professionals from a range of backgrounds to help strengthen governance and oversight in Australia's aged care sector.

Advisory Council members provide independent advice, monitor the performance of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, and help guide its strategic priorities. They also advise the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commissioner, the Complaints Commissioner, and the Minister for Aged Care and Seniors.

The council plays an important role in improving aged care services and supporting outcomes for older Australians, their families and carers.

Appointments are made by the Minister for Aged Care and Seniors on a part-time basis for terms of up to four years.

People interested in applying are encouraged to submit their expression of interest before the extended deadline of 11:30 pm AEST on 19 July 2026.
