New resource for CALD patients
The General Practice Mental Health Standards Collaboration has released a new resource to help GPs provide inclusive, trauma-informed and culturally safe care to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) patients.
The resource includes practical guidance on building trust, discussing sensitive issues respectfully and recognising situations where extra care may be needed.
It also covers issues that can affect CALD patients, including cultural and family circumstances, migration experiences, systemic barriers, interpreter services and administrative requirements.
