RACGP Survey Shows Strong Member Support While Highlighting Areas for Improvement
01 Jul 2026
The annual survey measures how well the RACGP supports, represents and connects with its members. The findings help guide the college’s future priorities and services.
Key results from the 2025 survey include:
- 70% of members said they trust the RACGP.
- 70% would recommend RACGP membership to others.
- 65% said they feel connected to the college.
- 75% rated the RACGP’s advocacy for GPs as "absolutely essential."
- Nearly 90% said the college’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) content, platform and support met or exceeded their expectations.
The survey also showed steady improvement over the past five years, with more members reporting satisfaction with the college and saying it meets or exceeds their expectations.
Despite the positive results, members highlighted several areas for improvement. Newly qualified Fellows said they would like more support in managing workload, fatigue, and the growing regulatory and administrative demands of general practice.
Many members also said they want clearer communication about the RACGP’s advocacy work, including how policy positions are developed and how member feedback influences decision-making.
RACGP President Dr Michael Wright said the survey confirms that CPD remains one of the college’s most valued services, while advocacy continues to be a key priority for members. He added that the results also show there is still work to do to ensure every member feels supported and sees value in their membership.
The RACGP says feedback from this and previous member surveys has helped shape its 2026–30 Advocacy Plan. The next Member Engagement Survey will open later this year.
