A key focus is a second webinar on the new Assignment of Benefit process, scheduled for 14 July. The session will explain recent Medicare changes affecting bulk-billed services during the 12-month transition period, including updated requirements for verbal and enduring assignment of benefit.

The college is also inviting recently qualified GPs to complete the New Fellows Survey, which aims to better understand the challenges faced by early-career doctors and help shape future RACGP support. The anonymous survey closes on 20 July.

GPs are also reminded that several Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) and Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) changes took effect on 1 July, and practices should ensure they are familiar with updates that may affect patient care and billing.

Another upcoming webinar on 15 July will cover Medicare fundamentals, provider responsibilities and compliance requirements. The session is designed for GPs in training and those new to Medicare, although all GPs and practice managers are welcome to attend.

The RACGP will also continue its National Guide workshops, helping GPs strengthen culturally safe preventive healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Upcoming workshops will be held in Melbourne, Alice Springs and Sydney, with participants able to earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours.

Queensland GPs can also join a webinar on 16 July featuring the latest immunisation updates. Topics include vaccine-preventable diseases, the recent diphtheria outbreak, and updates on Shingrix and RSV vaccinations.

The RACGP says these events are designed to help GPs stay informed about important policy changes, strengthen clinical knowledge and support high-quality patient care.
