RACGP Opens 2026 Awards and Updates Programs

The awards celebrate excellence in general practice, highlighting leadership, dedication to patient care, and those who inspire others in the profession.

Alongside the awards, the RACGP has shared several updates across training, education and practice support.

A webinar on mandatory reporting will be held on 21 April in partnership with Avant, covering the role of Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, reporting obligations for doctors, and resources to support GP wellbeing. The session also includes CPD recognition.

Applications are also open for the 2026 RACGP Mentoring Program until 31 May. The program is designed to help GPs build skills, confidence, and professional connections through peer support.

The RACGP Practice Owners Conference will be held on 23–24 May at ICC Sydney, with pre-conference workshops on 22 May. This year’s theme, “Stronger in practice,” will focus on financial performance, Medicare compliance, leadership, operations, and the future of general practice.

Some workshops are already fully booked, and early bird registrations are still open for a limited time.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members have also been invited to review a draft RACGP submission to a parliamentary inquiry into racism, hate, and violence. Feedback is open until 6 May.

Support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples were also highlighted, including 13YARN, Brother to Brother, and Yarning SafeNStrong.

In addition, the second quarterly payments under the Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program are being processed, with some reassessments included to correct earlier payment differences due to updated claims or eligibility changes.

Finally, the latest Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation bulletin has been released, summarising key updates from its March meeting for immunisation providers, including GPs, nurses and pharmacists.
