RACGP Highlights Reconciliation Week and New GP Learning Opportunities

21 May 2026

National Reconciliation Week runs from 27 May to 3 June and includes a special webinar discussing the long-term health impacts faced by Stolen Generations survivors. The session will also share practical ways healthcare professionals can provide respectful, trauma-aware support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.

The college is also working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health organisations to deliver a webinar series helping practices build stronger and more culturally inclusive healthcare teams.

New guidance materials have been released to support GPs in providing safe and respectful care, with information on communication, trust-building, cultural understanding, and challenges that may affect access to healthcare.

The update also includes reminders about upcoming RACGP activities, including webinars on pharmacist prescribing, vaccination advice for high-risk patients, GP26 conference submissions, mentoring opportunities, and dementia research events.

According to the RACGP, these programs are designed to support better healthcare, stronger collaboration, and continued professional learning across general practice in Australia.
