Public Feedback Invited on New $200 Million Inclusive Communities Fund

The Australian Government has committed $200 million over three years to establish the fund, which aims to help community organisations create more inclusive environments for people with disability, including National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants.
Rather than providing direct funding to individuals or changing NDIS plans, the initiative will invest in community organisations so they can improve access to activities and programs for people with disability.
Funding is expected to support a wide range of community settings, including sporting clubs, arts and cultural groups, volunteer organisations, community gardens, multicultural organisations and other local activities that encourage participation and social connection.
The Government is seeking feedback from people with disability, disability representative organisations, community groups and the wider community on how the fund should be designed and delivered.
Consultation questions focus on identifying barriers to participation, examples of successful inclusive activities, the types of community programs that should receive support, and practical ways to make community involvement more accessible in the future.
Community members can provide feedback through the Government's Consultation Hub until 11:59 pm (AEST) on 31 August 2026.
