Perth GPs and Experts Unite for ADHD Symposium
01 Apr 2026
The RACGP WA ADHD Symposium highlighted collaboration between GPs, paediatricians, pharmacists, and educators.
Dr Ramya Raman, RACGP WA Chair, said the event showed that structured GP training with proper support and pay is now in place, marking a major step in workforce reform.
The WA Government’s online training models, including mentorship from psychiatrists and paediatricians, aim to help GPs assess ADHD in patients aged 10+ and prescribe medications.
Dr Sean Stevens added:
“The event was exciting and positive. GPs are now working to the top of their scope, and the training program will continue to expand, especially in rural and regional areas.”
