New Hearing Services Contracts Finalised Ahead of July 2026 Start

01 Jun 2026

Following the review process, new service provider contracts have been issued for signing. These contracts will come into effect from 1 July 2026.

Providers will continue to have up to six months from the date of service to submit claims. In exceptional cases where claims cannot be lodged within this timeframe, providers may contact the Department via email for case-by-case assessment.

The Department has also reminded providers that any suspected data breaches must be reported within three calendar days. While notification is required promptly, full investigations do not need to be completed within that period.

This early reporting process is intended to ensure timely advice and allow the Department to meet its own reporting obligations.

The Department has also emphasised the importance of respectful and professional communication between providers and program staff. It noted that while providers may disagree with decisions, all interactions must remain constructive.

Where behaviour does not meet expected standards, the Department may take action, including managing or limiting communications and escalating issues where necessary under contractual rules.

Providers are reminded that resources and guidance materials remain available on the Department’s website to support compliance and service delivery.
