NDIS publishes feedback on proposed new planning system

The consultation looked at how the proposed planning rules could work and invited feedback from NDIS participants, people with disability, providers, carers and advocates.
People provided views on the proposed changes, how they could work in practice and where more information was needed.
The feedback will help shape the development of the new framework planning rules. Work is also continuing with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), state and territory governments and the disability community.
The new planning approach is intended to make the NDIS fairer, clearer, more sustainable and focused on the needs of participants.
The Government has also released a separate report covering feedback on proposed NDIS supports rules. That consultation took place from 16 June to 27 July 2025.
Together, the two consultation processes will help inform the wider NDIS reform program and improve the experience for participants.
New framework planning is expected to begin from April 2027 and will be introduced gradually over the following years.
