More Than 3,700 Practices Now in Bulk Billing Incentive Program

The program provides additional financial support to practices that bulk bill all Medicare-eligible patients for eligible services, with the aim of reducing out-of-pocket costs and improving access to primary care.
Under the scheme, participating practices receive a 12.5% incentive payment on Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) payments for eligible services.
The government has also highlighted that Australia’s bulk billing rate has increased to 81.4% nationally in the past three months.
