Medical Training Survey Opens for Doctors in Training

The annual survey, commissioned by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), gathers feedback from doctors about their training experiences, supervision and workplace environment. The findings are used to identify strengths, address areas for improvement and support future accreditation and workforce planning.
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs has also released a new quick claiming guide for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander veterans. The guide helps GPs and primary care providers understand available Medicare and DVA item numbers and includes a practical billing example covering a 12-month period.
GPs and GP registrars planning to undertake research can apply for RACGP Foundation PhD top-up scholarships. Applications open on 24 August and close on 5 October. The scholarships aim to support research that strengthens general practice and improves patient care in Australia.
Early bird registrations have also been extended for the General Practice in Addiction Conference (GPADD), taking place on 28–29 August. The conference will focus on evidence-based care for patients affected by alcohol and other drug use.
The National Guide Workshop series will continue across Australia, providing GPs with practical training in culturally safe preventive healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Upcoming workshops will be held in Orange, New South Wales, and Shepparton, Victoria, with additional sessions planned in several other locations.
Applications are also open for the RACGP Future Leaders Program. The fully funded leadership program gives GPs the opportunity to develop leadership skills, earn CPD hours and prepare for future leadership roles within general practice.
