GPs invited to help shape dementia care in primary practice

The organisation is developing a primary care strategy focused on strengthening its work with the primary healthcare system, including GPs and practice nurses.
GPs are encouraged to provide feedback on priorities for working with primary care. De-identified responses may also be used to support advocacy and policy changes aimed at improving the primary care experience for people living with dementia.
The survey takes about five minutes to complete and is open until 5.00 pm (AEST) on Wednesday 16 September 2026.
AHPRA webinars
The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is offering several webinars in October, with registrations now open. Topics include managing health concerns with AHPRA, supporting medical interns moving to general registration, and helping internationally qualified medical practitioners through registration.
Primary healthcare nursing workforce survey
The Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) is seeking input from nurses, midwives and nurse practitioners working across primary healthcare settings as part of its 2026 workforce survey.
The survey takes around 15 minutes and is open until midnight on Sunday 18 October 2026. Responses will help inform workforce development and future primary healthcare nursing priorities. Non-APNA members can also participate.
Occupational medicine conference
The Australian and New Zealand Society of Occupational Medicine (ANZSOM) Annual Scientific Meeting will take place at the Adelaide Convention Centre from 25–28 October 2026.
The four-day program will cover practical approaches to work-related health issues, including mental health and the workplace, worker wellbeing, sleep disorders, concussion and mild traumatic brain injury, whiplash injuries, medicinal cannabis, cultural safety and workplace site visits.
The conference is aimed at professionals across primary care, occupational medicine, nursing and allied health, with full and single-day registration options available.
