Technology in Healthcare Congress
The Technology in Healthcare Congress will be held in Sydney on 27–28 May. Health leaders, researchers, and patient representatives will meet to discuss new technologies, prevention, and value-based care.
Dr Michael Wright, RACGP President, will speak on supporting diverse communities. Early registration is open for RACGP members in February. The event is limited to 200 delegates.
Asbestos Research Survey
The National Centre for Asbestos Related Diseases (NCARD) is running the Asbestos Voices: Defining Research Needs survey. It asks patients, carers, healthcare workers, and advocates which research topics are most important to them.
The survey takes 10–15 minutes and is anonymous. It can be completed online.
DVA Healthcare Eligibility
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) has made it simpler for GPs to check eligibility for DVA-funded healthcare. Many cases no longer require contacting the DVA directly. Guidance is available on the DVA website.
Digital Health Festival 2026
The Digital Health Festival will run on 20–21 May, with the RACGP as an industry partner. Speakers include Dr Michael Wright, Dr Darran Foo, and Dr Rob Hosking.
GPs can access digital health resources, connect with colleagues, and members can apply for a free VIP ticket valued at $1000.
