Free food and dining reviews offered to residential aged care homes

The Menu and Mealtime Review program will provide up to 300 reviews during the 2026–27 financial year. It is open to homes that have not previously received a review through the program.
The reviews can help aged care homes:
- improve food and dining experiences for residents
- meet the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, including Standard 6: Food and nutrition.
Priority will be given to:
- homes in the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care Program
- homes scoring below 3 on the Residents’ Experience Survey question, ‘Do you like the food here?’
- homes in small rural towns, remote communities and very remote communities
- smaller homes with 60 or fewer residents
- small providers with 1–2 services and medium providers with 3–10 services.
Expressions of interest close on 21 September 2026.
