Federal Budget 2026–27 focuses on health and aged care
13 May 2026
The Budget continues efforts to make healthcare more affordable and easier to access for all Australians, wherever they live.
Key focus areas include strengthening Medicare, reducing the cost of medicines, and investing in medical research.
It also includes measures to support the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) for future generations and to roll out the Thriving Kids program.
In aged care, the Budget aims to increase the number of available beds, speed up access to Support at Home services, and improve the quality of care for older Australians.
More details are available through the official Budget information page.
