EOIs Open for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Leadership Roles in South Western Sydney

06 May 2026

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now open for people wanting to join the Steering Committee or working groups supporting the South Western Sydney Regional Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Plan to 2030.

The plan was developed with input from local consumers, health professionals, and community organisations. It focuses on improving collaboration, increasing access to care, and making services more person-centred and culturally safe across South Western Sydney.

Who can apply?

EOIs are open to:

  • People with lived or living experience of mental illness or suicide
  • GPs and allied health professionals
  • Representatives from government and community organisations

Steering Committee role

The Steering Committee will provide leadership and oversee the delivery of the regional plan. Members will help guide priorities, monitor progress, manage risks, and support implementation activities.

Meetings are expected to be held monthly.

Working groups

Four initial working groups have been identified:

  • Mental health promotion and prevention
  • Integrated care and service pathways
  • Workforce development and capacity building
  • Digital innovation and technology

Working groups will help design and deliver key actions under the plan and will operate based on project needs and timelines.

Next steps

The updated regional plan builds on five years of previous collaboration involving more than 200 stakeholders. The new phase aims to strengthen coordination and improve integrated mental health care across the region.

Stakeholders interested in participating are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest by 12 June 2026.
