DoHDA Clarifies Prescriber Bag Ordering Requirements

The guidance explains the purpose of the Prescriber Bag arrangements and provides advice on appropriate medicine ordering. It also outlines the professional responsibilities that apply when medicines are ordered through the scheme.
The concerns relate to requirements under the National Health Act 1953 and related Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme arrangements.
Mild cognitive impairment webinar
RACGP Specific Interests, in partnership with Dementia Training Australia, will hold a webinar on 2 September from 7.30–8.30 pm AEST.
The session will cover the recognition, diagnosis and management of mild cognitive impairment. It will focus on early identification, timely intervention, monitoring and practical management in general practice.
The webinar provides 1 EA CPD hour.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health survey
The RACGP is seeking feedback from GPs interested in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
The survey aims to understand current needs and priorities so the faculty can improve its resources and learning opportunities. It takes around 10 minutes to complete.
Future Leaders Program applications closing
Applications for the RACGP Future Leaders Program 2027 intake close on 1 September.
The program supports GPs to develop leadership skills, build confidence, lead change and advocate for general practice. Participants also receive expert guidance, practical resources and opportunities to connect with other emerging GP leaders.
Lung Foundation Australia survey
Lung Foundation Australia is developing a new Healthcare Professional Engagement Strategy and is seeking feedback from healthcare professionals across the respiratory health sector.
The survey takes around 10 minutes and closes on 7 September. Feedback will help inform future engagement, support and collaboration.
Medicare urgent care clinic evaluation
GPs are also being invited to share their experiences of Medicare Urgent Care Clinics as part of an evaluation of the program.
The feedback sessions will examine the impact of urgent care clinics on local general practices and health systems, coordination with other services and opportunities to improve the model.
Participating GPs will receive $75 per half hour for the feedback sessions.
