Diabetes Masterclass series returns with a focus on care beyond glucose

The 2026 program, Beyond Glucose, includes a seven-week virtual series and an interactive face-to-face education day.
The online sessions will run from 7 pm to 8.30 pm on Tuesdays until 10 November. The face-to-face session will be held on Saturday, 7 November, from 9 am to 4 pm at Parkroyal Parramatta.
Topics covered will include:
- Diabetes medicines and obesity management
- Continuous glucose monitoring and digital diabetes care
- Bringing specialist knowledge into general practice
- Cardiovascular and kidney protection
- South Asian diabetes care
- Atypical diabetes
- Developing a high-performing diabetes program in general practice
The free program is open to GPs, pharmacists, diabetes educators, nurses, endocrinologists, dietitians, exercise physiologists, psychologists and podiatrists.
The virtual sessions will include expert presentations, interactive case studies, panel discussions and question-and-answer sessions. More than 50 health professionals will contribute to the program.
Participants will also have access to recorded presentations and slides through the myINTERACT app. A certificate of attendance will be provided for CPD hours.
The series is facilitated by Western Sydney Diabetes, the Agency for Clinical Innovation, the Diabetes, Obesity Metabolism Translational Research Unit and local health district and primary health network partners.
More than 1,400 people registered for the free series in 2025.
