$1.8M Worth of Illegal Vapes Seized in Sydney Crackdown
17 Apr 2026
On 15 April 2026, the TGA, with support from NSW Police, carried out raids at two sites in Chipping Norton and Casula. The seized goods are estimated to be worth around $1.8 million, with investigations still ongoing.
The operation followed a wider investigation into illegal online advertising, supply, and large-scale possession of vaping products. Authorities say more enforcement action may take place.
Since new vaping laws were introduced, the TGA has been involved in more than 50 joint operations to stop the illegal vape trade across Australia.
Officials say it is illegal to import, sell, advertise, or hold large amounts of non-therapeutic vaping products. Breaking these laws can lead to heavy fines or even jail time.
Health authorities are reminding people that anyone using vaping products to quit smoking should speak with a doctor or pharmacist.
