Virtual Women's Health Clinic Marks First Year Supporting More Than 850 Victorians

The virtual service makes it easier for women to access expert care without needing a referral or travelling long distances. It offers support for a wide range of sexual and reproductive health needs, along with advice for several common women's health conditions.
During its first year, the clinic provided care for more than 300 women seeking medical abortion services, over 250 menopause and perimenopause consultations, more than 150 appointments for pelvic pain and endometriosis, and supported more than 100 women with contraception advice and prescriptions, including long-acting reversible contraception.
The service also assisted women with sexual health testing, menstrual health concerns, cervical screening and breast health, helping improve access to timely care across Victoria.
The clinic has been particularly valuable for women living in rural and regional communities by reducing travel and making specialist healthcare available from home.
The Virtual Women's Health Clinic is part of Victoria's Women's Health and Wellbeing Program, a $153.9 million investment aimed at improving women's healthcare. The program also includes Women's Health Clinics in public hospitals, Women's Sexual and Reproductive Health Hubs, a dedicated Aboriginal Women's Health Clinic and Nina, the Mobile Women's Health Clinic.
