Trauma-informed care training for primary care providers and other workers

What you will learn
- information about wellbeing and self-care when working with clients who have complex trauma
- knowledge, skills and tools to better recognise early signs of various stress outcomes
- information about trauma, the impacts of trauma and the neurobiological responses which occur
- understanding of the key features of complex trauma which can present in your working relationships, and the resourcing and regulation to support you in your practice
Eligibility
- You must be a primary healthcare provider in the South Western Sydney LGAs of Bankstown, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Liverpool, Wollondilly or Wingecarribee
- You must work with people who have experienced trauma, further requirements are specified below
Courses for all professionals who work with people who have experienced trauma
The below four courses are available to primary healthcare providers who work in South Western Sydney and provide support for people who have experienced trauma. This includes, but is not limited to, GPs and practices nurses, allied health, mental health, alcohol and other drugs services, community, legal, justice, domestic and family violence, child protection, emergency, disability, housing, settlement and employment services.
