Kids learn to ride with confidence in new cycling program
28 Aug 2023
The new national AusBike program encourages kids to discover the freedom, fun and adventure of life on a bike.
Developed by Australia's peak cycling body, AusCycling, the program teaches kids aged 5-12 the fundamental skills of bike riding and road safety. Whether your child is getting ready to come off training wheels or looking for more challenging rides, AusBike caters to all.
AusBike is run by accredited coaches in a safe, fun and inclusive environment. Programs will be rolled out across Australia, helping kids to build their skills and confidence to be road-safe and tackle more challenging rides.
The program also introduces kids to cycling, an exercise that is great for their overall health and wellbeing. It’s a simple activity to do with family or friends and spend time outdoors.
The AusBike program is a legacy initiative from the UCI World Road Championships, and proudly supported by the Australian Government.
