BCNA Highlights the Power of Lived Experience at Global Cancer Care Conference
14 Jul 2026
The international event brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, advocates and people with lived experience to discuss the latest advances in supportive cancer care.
Throughout the conference, BCNA staff and Consumer Representatives shared their experiences through presentations, panel discussions and workshops. Their contributions highlighted how patient perspectives can help improve cancer care, research and support services.
The conference focused on improving access to supportive care, promoting healthy lifestyle support and managing the side effects of new cancer treatments. BCNA also sponsored a training program that helps healthcare professionals have more confident and supportive conversations about sexual wellbeing after a cancer diagnosis.
The organisation's exhibition stand gave delegates the opportunity to learn more about BCNA's resources and connect with the team. The conference also reinforced the importance of involving people with lived experience in research, service design and advocacy to help deliver more person-centred care.
BCNA says the knowledge and partnerships gained at the event will help strengthen the information, support and advocacy it provides to Australians affected by breast cancer.
