Ambulance Tasmania Adds 11 Experienced Paramedics to Emergency Services

29 Oct 2026

The latest recruits will strengthen ambulance services in Tasmania, with seven based in the South, one in the North and three in the North West.

Their arrival brings the total number of paramedics welcomed by Ambulance Tasmania in 2026 to 75. This includes 42 graduate paramedics and 33 qualified paramedics.

All 11 new recruits have moved to Tasmania from interstate or overseas, including four from the United Kingdom and New Zealand. Together, they bring 51 years of paramedic experience to the service.

The new team members will help provide emergency care to people across Tasmania, including those needing urgent, life-saving treatment.

They are currently completing Ambulance Tasmania’s four-week induction program, which includes practical training to prepare them for their roles and the needs of the local community.

After completing the program, the paramedics will begin working across the state, with on-road mentoring and ongoing support as they settle into their new positions.
