Public consultation: Guidelines on compounding medicine

Public consultation has opened on the Pharmacy Board of Australia’s draft revised Guidelines on compounding of medicines. The Board is reviewing the guidelines, which it first published in 2015, to ensure they are relevant, contemporary and effective.

After serving as an unregistered employee at a pharmacy for 17 months, a man was convicted for misrepresenting himself as a registered pharmacist.

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) has successfully prosecuted Mr Alexander Gigney for holding himself out as a registered pharmacist in contravention of section 116 of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law 2009 (National Law).
