Toolkit to support participation of people with disability in assessments
17 Sep 2025
Evaluations are used by governments and organisations to check how well their policies, programs and services are working. Including people with disability in these processes ensures decisions are informed by lived experience and focus on what truly matters to them.
The Toolkit supports the one in five Australians who identify as having a disability, helping to make sure their voices are heard and respected.
It is part of Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021–2031, which aims to build a more inclusive and accessible nation.
The Toolkit provides:
-
Simple guidance for people with disability on how to take part in evaluations
-
Advice for evaluators and decision-makers on being inclusive
-
Practical resources such as checklists and fact sheets to support best practice
More information, including accessible versions, is available through the Toolkit for engaging with people with disability in evaluation.
