Shaping the Future of Oral Health: National Plan Progress
29 Aug 2025
Consultations continue on the National Oral Health Plan
Work is underway to shape the new National Oral Health Plan, with experts, community representatives, and health organisations helping to set the vision, principles, and priorities.
In June and July 2025, more consultations were held to refine the draft. A workshop on 30 June in Sydney brought together 29 participants from 24 organisations. Two online sessions on 22 and 24 July included stakeholders from rural and remote communities, with 27 participants representing 21 organisations such as government agencies, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, universities, and service providers.
The summary report from these consultations is now available.
Next steps
Consultations will continue through August 2025, with First Peoples Health Consulting leading targeted engagement with First Nations stakeholders. A public survey will also open on the Department’s Consultation Hub, giving the wider community the chance to share their views.
