Scam alert
01 Sep 2023
We are aware that a small number of people have received calls from scammers impersonating the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Usually these types of scammers are trying to trick people into giving them personal information or money.
You can identify these scam calls by checking the caller number, which displays as ‘02 6289 4124’. A legitimate call from the TGA will be displayed as a ‘Private Number’. The TGA will not ask you to provide your personal information or make payment over the phone.
It is important to take steps to ensure your personal and financial information are kept safe. If you provided the caller with any financial information, please contact your bank or card provider immediately to report the scam. Ask them to stop any transactions.
