RACGP Members Invited to Vote on Convocation Proposals

15 Oct 2025

Convocation, introduced by the College in 1978, allows members to submit ideas that benefit themselves, their patients, and the broader profession. A shortlist of three proposals has been selected by the RACGP Board, with the winning submission to be announced at GP25 on 13 November, ahead of the Annual General Meeting.

This year’s shortlisted proposals are:

  • Mental Health Crisis Summit – Associate Professor Ralph Audehm
Proposal to convene a summit addressing mental health, bringing together key stakeholders and developing five priority actions.

  • AI Implementation to Enhance Trainee and Member Experience – Dr Tatiana Zandanova
Proposal for AI-driven improvements to administrative processes, training pathways, and transparency across GP training and regulatory systems.

  • College-led Public Campaign to Promote the Value of GPs – Dr Maximilian Mollenkopf
Proposal for a national advertising campaign to educate the public about the benefits of seeing a specialist GP.

Voting details:

  • Open until 9.00 am (AEDT), Monday 10 November

  • Shortlisted proposals will be presented at Convocation on 13 November at GP25

  • Members can attend in person or online via Zoom

The winning proposal will be included for noting at the December RACGP Board meeting, with a business case prepared for proposed action in early 2026.

RACGP President Dr Michael Wright encouraged members to participate, saying Convocation is an important way to raise issues, propose solutions, and influence College policy, advocacy, and resources.
