AMRAB members are carefully selected for their expertise and experience to guide MRFF funding, supporting Australia’s medical research goals. All members have a track record of research contributions and a commitment to advancing the nation’s research potential.

Professor North is a distinguished paediatric physician, neurologist, and clinical geneticist, known for her leadership in research translation and genomic medicine. In 2019, she was awarded Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) for her service to genomic medicine and medical research.

She was appointed following an open nomination process and succeeds Professor Ian Frazer AC, who stepped down as Chair in February 2025.

The MRFF aims to fund medical research that improves health outcomes for Australians.
