The RACE Showcase is a fantastic opportunity for regional local health network executives and Governing Boards, medical professionals, medical training organisations and associations, medical training colleges and universities to learn about a program that has significantly improved health service delivery, clinical training and recruitment in the Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network.

We are pleased to share our story with attendees from across the state and explore ways to implement this successful model in other local health networks.

We would like to thank our special guests for taking part in the showcase, and we look forward to learning more about national and international rural medical training best practice.

Quotes attributable to RMCLHN Executive Director Clinical Innovation, Professor Paul Worley

The RACE program continues to grow from strength to strength, and we hope our experience may help other local health networks with future training and recruitment.

RACE has helped increase doctor numbers by 25 per cent since 2021, with eleven doctors joining the program this year alone and more to follow.

The program is highly sought-after by medical graduates, and we credit this to our high-quality and dedicated existing doctors who play a vital role supervising and training our next generation.
