New NDIS Evidence Advisory Committee Announced

05 Sep 2025

Associate Professor Jill Duncan OAM will serve as the first Chair of the NDIS Evidence Advisory Committee, supported by six co-chairs across three sub-committees.

The Australian Government has established the NDIS Evidence Advisory Committee (EAC) to provide expert advice on which supports should be funded under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This initiative was announced in the 2024–25 Budget as part of the government’s response to the NDIS Review.

The Committee’s work will be supported by three specialized sub-committees:

  1. Assistive Technology & Capital

  2. Capacity Building & Therapies

  3. Economics

The EAC and sub-committee members bring expertise from fields such as allied health, nursing, clinical research, medicine, law, social work, education, and business. Many members, including a majority of EAC members, are people with disability or have lived experience of disability, including carers.

EAC Members:

  • Associate Professor Jill Duncan OAM (Chair)

  • Professor Angus Buchanan

  • Ms Melanie Eagle

  • Matthew Formston AM

  • Ms Clare Gibellini

  • Professor Tammy Hoffman OAM

  • Dr Robyn Mildon

  • Mr Andrew Moffat

  • Ms Mary Sayers

Sub-Committee Co-Chairs:

  • Assistive Technology & Capital: Dr Lisa Chaffey, Professor Alistair McEwan

  • Capacity Building & Therapies: Dr Walid Jammal, Professor Yasmine Probst

  • Economics: Professor Liliana Bulfone, Professor Rob Carter

Other sub-committee members will be announced soon.

The Committee will begin public consultations on each support in late 2025, giving people an opportunity to provide input.
