Members of the Asia Pacific Aged Care Hub visit Australia
04 Oct 2023
A group of leading aged care specialists from India, Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and the Philippines visited Australia in late August 2023. They were part of the Asia Pacific Aged Care Hub (APACH), launched by Aged Care Research & Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA). ARIIA is a not-for-profit organisation we fund to increase workforce capability and promote the use of technology in aged care.
Through this initiative, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade awarded 15 fellowships to aged care specialists from across the Asia Pacific. Their aim is to improve and build capacity for aged care across the region. The APACH fellows joined guest lectures and roundtable discussions. They also visited aged care facilities and health departments in Adelaide, Sydney, and Canberra to gain insight into the Australian models of best practice in aged care.
