Let’s learn to break down barriers in healthcare

We’re continuing to highlight speakers and sessions at our AMA24 conference with the session “Accessibility: More Than Just a Ramp” with Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM and Amanda Frier from CheckUP.

Dr Palipana will team up with Ms Frier from CheckUP Australia to improve disability awareness amongst doctors and other healthcare providers and discuss strategies and resources to assist health providers reduce the barriers that inhibit participation of people with disability from beginning medical training, return to work and thrive in the health workforce.

This session builds on the release of the AMA Position Statement Supporting doctors and medical students with disability 2023 which outlines actions needed to create inclusive training and work environments in key areas of fair selection, organisational support, flexibility and research.
