Changes to some Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) items came into effect on 1 November 2024.
These changes include new and amended MBS items for nurse practitioners and midwives, general medical services, diagnostic imaging services and pathology services. There’s also a fee indexation being applied to nuclear medicine MBS items, something the AMA called for in collaboration with the Australasian Association of Nuclear Medicine Specialists.
