Honouring Australia’s Unpaid Carers: National Carers Week 12–18 October
13 Oct 2025
This week is a reminder for everyone to show support and appreciation by:
-
Checking in with carers you know.
-
Offering help so they can take a well-earned break.
-
Acknowledging carers in your workplace or community.
-
Encouraging carers to prioritise their own health and wellbeing.
The Australian Government is committed to supporting carers through programs that help them stay connected, continue working if they wish, and maintain their health while caring for others.
The National Carer Strategy 2024–2034 outlines a national plan to improve support for carers. It focuses on making services across federal, state and territory governments more coordinated, accessible and easier to navigate, helping carers balance their caring responsibilities with everyday life.
